Planning application lodged for Darwen doggy daycare centre

A new doggy daycare centre and kennels is seeking permission to open in Darwen, Blackburn.

Barks Allowed has submitted a planning application with Blackburn with Darwen council seeking to change the use of a vacant industrial unit on Watery Lane to create the new business.

In the daytime, the centre would permit up to 30 dogs to be cared for in new facilities comprising a 59sqm play area, a 35sqm small dog activity area, a 28sqm reception and waiting area, a 51sqm large dog activity area, three dog relaxation areas (2sqm each) and two toilets.

According to the planning statement, the development would help support economic growth and create four full-time jobs, while work experience opportunities for local schools and colleges will also be provided.
