Petpals franchisees mark 15 years in business
Husband-and-wife team Jim and Jayne Furlong are celebrating 15 years running their petcare business in the Wirral.
While the Petpals franchisees spend most of their time walking dogs and visiting cats, they also care for smaller pets such as gerbils, guinea pigs and rabbits. In addition, it is not unusual for the couple to also top up bird feeders, scatter food for ducks or keep an eye out for hedgehogs in the garden.
Jayne said: “When we first started, we never imagined we’d still be here 15 years later. It was a huge leap at the time and we weren’t sure what the future would hold. But caring for animals has always been part of our lives, and it’s been such a privilege to meet so many wonderful pets – and their owners – along the way.
“The trust people place in us is something we never take for granted. We feel so lucky to have been welcomed into the community.”
Jim said: “Some of our customers have been with us right from the beginning, and we’ve watched their pets grow from tiny puppies and kittens into much-loved older companions.
“That kind of journey is really special to share. We’re so grateful for the kindness, loyalty and encouragement we’ve received – the community has been at the heart of everything we’ve achieved over the past 15 years.”
Jayne added: “We feel really lucky to spend our days outdoors, surrounded by animals, doing something we love – and we’re looking forward to many more years of happy paws and wagging tails.”
