Norwich groomer opens first salon after 15 years in the business

Norwich dog groomer Lauren Starling is celebrating opening her own grooming salon after 15 years in the business.

Starling, who is a qualified teacher and assessor for three animal care colleges, opened Taverham-based The Dog Pod a month ago.

She told the Eastern Daily Press: “My dream since leaving college was to open my own salon, I just never got around to it.

“I’m so proud I made the jump – it was scary but it’s been so rewarding.”

Starling also volunteers every Saturday at PACT animal sanctuary in Hingham.

She said: “If they’re in real need of a tidy-over – often they’re feeling quite uncomfortable as they’ve never been groomed before – I’ll give them a little TLC.”
