Newbury pub to transform into dog grooming salon

Work has begun to transform an old pub in Newbury, Berkshire, into a dog grooming salon.

The Old Bell pub on Andover Road, on Wash Common, had been in use since the 1800s, but was put up for sale in 2020.

A planning application was submitted in 2021, but following an amended construction method plan being submitted, permission was granted in June.

Once construction has taken place the building will house a veterinary practice, alongside the grooming salon.
