Manchester dog boarding company accused of ‘stealing’ dog

A dog boarding company in Manchester has been accused of stealing a dog in its care, after the owner has failed to locate either the dog and the company’s owner.

Dog owner Redford Robinson said on social media that he has lost contact with the owners of dog kennels City Dog MCR, where he booked his Cane Corso, called Diego, on a long-term basis from August 2023 until February 2024, after selling his house and going on a five-week holiday.

Redford told the Daily Mail that he was in regular contact with the company until 30 January, but has not heard from them since then.

He said the company was not responding to either phone calls or text messages, and when he visited the premises, he found it had closed down.

He is now offering a £5,000 reward and has reported the incident to Greater Manchester Police.

A police spokesperson told the newspaper: “An investigation into theft from Pollard Street East in Manchester is still ongoing at this stage with no arrests made.”

The Canine Times has approached City Dog MCR for a comment but had not received a response at the time of publishing.
