Luxury dog hotel opens in Sunderland

A new luxury dog boarding facility has opened in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, which is already attracting celebrity clients.

The Puppy Dog Palace hotel features cinema room, chill out room, pampering grooming packages, and a large indoor play area.

Each dog has their own allocated locker, their own room including a memory foam mattress and blankets, rug, and iPad for watching a movie or to listening to relaxing music.

In addition, the pets can also enjoy a daily exercise on one of two privately-rented fields.

Owner Robyn Ellis, who also has a home boarding business, told the Sunderland Echo: “I called it the Puppy Dog Palace as we are so much more than a normal boarding kennels and our dogs really do get the VIP royal treatment.

“I’m due to open on Sunday (8 June) and I’m currently looking after Scarlett Moffatt and Chloe Ferry’s pet dogs which will be transferring from my home boarding to the new hotel.”

Prices for an overnight stay are £35 per dog, per night, which reduces the longer the pet stays at the hotel.
