Lancashire farmers plan new dog exercise field
The owners of Smithson Farm in Brierfield, Lancashire, are seeking permission to turn some agricultural land into an additional dog exercise field.
The field lies to the north of Smithson Farm, and runs alongside the M65, with access gained from an existing access gate from Wood End Road.
Dog exercising services are already being provided at the farm for one hour each morning.
The planning statement lodged with Pendle Council says dog exercise operators collect the dogs from people’s homes, bring them to the site in a van, and take them home afterwards.
The farm also has an established camping and caravan site and mining museum.
