Lancashire doggy daycare hits back at video showing dog being ‘dragged’ by collar
Lancashire-based doggy daycare Paws Playhouse has hit back after video footage showing a dog being dragged by its collar was posted across social media by a friend of a former employee.
The Leyland company said on Facebook: “The dog in the screenshots is called Cora and she is a playful spaniel whom the owner has confirmed will still regularly attend Paws Playhouse. In the video you were not shown, two other dogs were trying to mount Cora so she was removed by her collar – not her neck as described in the post – from the situation to be placed in another area.
“As mentioned, dog’s safety and happiness is our number one priority so she was removed and while doing so she started to wriggle and twist – this is what you saw in the screenshots. A dog wriggling as she was removed by her collar to another area for her own comfort.”
Cora’s owner, Anita Parkinson, told The Lancashire Post: “Cora is a well-rounded hyper Springer Spaniel and I have no worries about her safety.
“This isn’t a case for the RSPCA or the police and never will be. She is adored at daycare and loves going and will continue to do so.”
