Lancashire dog trainer has expansion plans rejected
Dog trainer Lisa Tennant, owner of K9 Rehab in Pendle, Lancashire, has been refused permission to use greenbelt land for dog and horse-related activities.
Tennant had sought permission from Pendle Borough Council to keep using land at Pendle Bridge Lodge, Woodend Road, Brierfield, for horse and dog-related activities.
She also wanted to build accommodation so someone can stay on-site 24 hours a day to look after dogs that need special training. Tennant had hoped to expand in the future by increasing the number of kennels from one to ten.
However, the councillors said giving permission for a worker’s bungalow would break greenbelt planning policies. They praised Tennant’s business and suggested she work with Pendle Council to find a different site.
