Isle of Wight kennel and cattery to close
Grange Kennels and Cattery, in Newport on the Isle of Wight, is to shut in November due to “economic and personal” challenges.
Owners Jane and Chris Millar, who took the business over in January 2025, said the business is no longer viable.
In a statement to customers, the couple said: “After careful consideration and a thorough review of our options, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue operations.
“Having taken over the business in January 2025, we are now facing various insurmountable challenges, both economic and personal, that make it unviable for us to take it forward. In particular, high and rising fixed costs have made the established operating model unviable. Moreover, as a family, we have to prioritise the care requirements of our younger son, who is living with a brain tumour.”
Grange Kennels and Cattery will remain open until 29 November – all bookings after that date have been cancelled.
