Invoxia smart dog collar to debut summer 2022
Electronics company Invoxia is to introduce its biometric health collar this summer, marking what is thought to be a first in the connected collars for dogs category.
The Smart Dog Collar has already won appraisal at this year’s CES, having won two CES Innovation Awards.
Promising to simplify the process of keeping tabs on dogs’ health, the collar uses embedded Artificial Intelligence and application of next generation sensors to provide a holistic overview of the animal’s wellbeing, including vitals, activity levels, sleep quality, and GPS location.
The data can be reviewed on the dedicated app which comprises a health dashboard, described as a “must-have for dogs with heart disease, elderly dogs, or during post-surgery recovery”.
“For dogs suffering from heart disease, structured home-based care programs that include continuous monitoring of respiratory and heart rate while attending to appetite and ideal body weight are encouraged. ,” Romain Pariaut DVM, DACVIM, DECVIM-CA of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University said.
“A higher than normal resting respiratory rate is one of the most pertinent indicators of impending heart failure.”
The device also enables GPS tracking and escape alerts, providing owners with real-time notifications of the dog’s whereabouts.
The feature includes a proximity radar and ringer for the last few feet
