Hull couple reunited with dachshund after it escapes from dog-sitters
A Hull couple has been reunited with their pet after it went missing following a visit to their dog sitters.
Bethanie Fisher and partner Hayden Payne spent two days searching for one-year-old Alfie, a blue dachshund, after taking him to the dog sitters for an overnight trial on Saturday (16 July).
Alfie had escaped from the sitter’s garden, but the couple claimed they did not find out that he was missing until 24 hours later.
Fisher launched an appeal on Facebook for any sightings that might help them track down Alfie. Hundreds braved record temperatures to search for Alfie who was discovered under bushes in Bude Park on Monday (18 July) afternoon.
Fisher told Hull Live: “We are completely over the moon to have our baby back. By some miracle, his bloods are mostly normal and he’s a little dehydrated.
“Thank you to everyone who helped us, you are all simply amazing and we are very humbled by the response. It has really shown what is possible when everyone clubs together to help. We couldn’t be more grateful.”
