Groomer Muttley & Mable aims to grow business

The owners of grooming salon Muttley & Mabel, which is based on Wyncolls Road in Colchester, are seeking to grow the business.

The company has applied for permission to change of use of a property in Heckworth Close, on the Severalls Industrial Estate, from offices and warehouse to a grooming parlour and daycare facility with seven parking spaces.

Muttley & Mabel, which opened in 2018, currently has more than 3,000 people on its books.

The salon’s planning statement said: “We feel the addition of the daycare facility will enhance our business and offer our customers a ‘one stop’ solution.

“The Seedbed Centre has given us the platform to help us grow but, going forward, limits what we can further do and also offers us no security of tender as we operate there on licence.”

Colchester Council has yet to approve the plans.
