Goldendoodle is Britain’s ‘most sought-after’ dog
Goldendoodles were the most sought-after dog last year, new research reveals.
A study of the sales and adverts placed on the Pets4Homes website, which lists about a third of all puppies advertised, found the cross attracted 995 potential buyers per dog advertised.
Dobermanns and maltipoos completed the most wanted top three, with 794 and 779 views per dog advertised.
The data shows poodle cross-breeds were some of the most popular breeds in 2023, taking four places in the Pets4Homes’s top 10 most searched for dogs.
Maltipoos came in third, while labradoodles were in sixth place, and cavapoos in seventh.
In addition, golden retrievers, labradoodles, and cavalier King Charles spaniels all ranked inside the top 10.
The Pets4Homes data also reveals sales of toy breeds such as chihuahuas and French bulldogs were down by 43% and 41%, respectively, last year.
