Former Derbyshire golf clubhouse could become grooming salon
A former golf clubhouse could turn into a dog grooming business if plans submitted to Erewash Borough Council get approved.
The facility closed five years ago and has been disused since then, but the owners now hope the council will approve their plans to open a new grooming site.
Barking Barbers will operate four to five days a week from 9am to 4pm. Two people will be working in the new business, the owner, Victoria Moon and her son Ryan Moon-Tucker, grooming approximately four to five dogs a day.
“The use of the building as a private residence as opposed to as a golf clubhouse will see a notable reduction in likely potential traffic generation – even allowing for the fact that the house will accommodate a small “work from home” dog grooming business,” the statement reads.
“With no extensions to the exterior of the building, and the removal of some of the hard surfaced areas around it, the scheme will increase the openness of the Green Belt rather than diminishing it – albeit that this will be a modest change.”
