Fife trainer plans to develop garden for sessions
Fife-based dog trainer Pauline Ginnelly plans to turn her garden into a dedicated dog training park.
The plans would create a home for Play2Train, which Ginnelly set up in 2020, which currently runs from different venues.
A supporting statement says that due to Ginnelly’s disability, which means she cannot drive, she feels her services are restricted and that she would “better meet the demand for help” if she were to use her garden as a base.
Ginnelly wants to create a controlled environment which is “aimed at growing calmness and focus” from dogs on their lead. It would also be a “safe, enriching space” for pets of all ages.
Works would include the replacement of the low timber pallet boundary with covered Heras fencing and the inclusion of a parking zone.
Sessions include one-to-one meetings for anxious owners and dogs, beginner classes for four dogs, and advanced groups for up to six dogs. These would only take place during daylight hours and no external lighting has been proposed.
