Essex Police seek dog stolen from outside family home

Essex Police are appealing for information following a theft of a family dog, Molly, from Hyde Way in Wickford.

The family initially feared the dog had escaped through an open gate on 13 March, but CCTV revealed she was picked up by a boy on a bike who cycled away with Molly under his arm. 

The force said it has interviewed a boy in relation to the theft and that he had been released pending further inquiries. However, Molly remains missing.

Essex Police said: “We are reaching out to the public to check CCTV cameras and to anyone who was in Cranfield Park between 1pm and 3pm on 13 March 2022.

“If you have any information that you would like to share with us about this, please contact us on 101 quoting crime reference number 42/70244/22.”
