Draughton farm secures approval for new dog grooming salon

Plans to change of use of part of a domestic garage in Draughton, North Yorkshire, into a dog grooming salon have been approved.

A planning officer’s report, recommending approval, states that the change of use of part of the garage connected to Field House Farm would involve no external changes to the building and despite its elevated position is well screened. Inside will be a dog grooming table and bath area.

The officer concludes: “The use of the building for a dog grooming service is considered to be an acceptable alternative form of farm diversification. The use will allow the applicant to work from home.”
