Dorset park opens two new dog training areas
Canford Park Sang, in Dorset, has added two new dog training areas.
The enclosed areas, which are operated by Polygon Pets in partnership with Pet Plan, provide agility equipment for pets and no booking is required for individual use.
A representative from Dorset Dogs, which champions positive management for people with dogs in town, coast and countryside, told The Bournemouth Echo: “Dorset Dogs is all about ‘Love Dogs, Love Nature’ so we’re really looking forward to exploring the next phase of Canford Park SANG as the existing area has proved exceptionally popular with dog walkers.
“Canford Park SANG is a great place for dog walkers and we’re excited to see the addition of two brand new dog-friendly areas where dogs can enjoy off-lead exercise all year round, whilst reducing impacts on areas with more sensitive wildlife, such as heathlands, where there are rare ground nesting birds.
“We hope lots of people will continue to enjoy and explore Canford Park with their dogs.”
Other developers in the park include more footpaths, the planting of 1,000 oak saplings, and an additional car park.
A representative from Canford Park said: “We are immeasurably proud of Canford SANG which provides an unrivalled natural resource for local people to exercise and experience nature, but crucially which takes pressure off Dorset’s Heathland, enabling these protected habitats to thrive into the future.”
