Digs for Dogs franchise celebrates 10th anniversary
Dog home boarding and walking services franchise Digs for Dogs is celebrating 10 years since it opened its doors.
Debbie Pomfret launched the business back in 2012, following her recovery from a serious illness and operation.
“I had a vision of exactly what the brand was going to look like and the quality of service I was going to provide. I was so proud of my green van, fully branded with Digs for Dogs, driving in and around Bury,” Pomfret said.
“Enter Mandy, my very first customer, who asked me to walk her gorgeous Staffy, Rocco. Together, with my faithful Chocolate Labrador Jaffa (who I miss so much since we had to say goodbye last year), we walked everywhere together,” she remembers. “We posted leaflets through letterboxes, displayed posters in shops, on notice boards, in parks, on fences, you name it! My customer base grew very quickly, along with a good reputation for the services I provided.”
The business turned into a franchise when Natalie Penny asked for a job after being made redundant.
“Things just snowballed and within a year I’d welcomed Alison, Andrea, Wendy, Mike, Emma, and Seana to Digs for Dogs, and as the brand grew so did our network of franchisees,” Pomfret added.
“All our franchisees are in the North West of England and Yorkshire, rather than spread sporadically across the UK, which is unparalleled marketing and advertising for the brand.”
