Council looks into kennels after alleged assault
Daisy Bank Boarding Kennels is being investigated by Stockport Council after a mass brawl breaking out at the kennels.
The council says it is aware of video footage circulating on social media this week, which shows a mass brawl breaking out at the kennels that resulted in a customer having “chunks of her hair ripped out” after she “demanded a refund”.
The row is reported to have been started after dog owner Keeley Jade Robinson picked up her two dogs from the kennels following an 11-day stay and questioned the conditions of the premises.
Daisy Bank Boarding Kennels claims Robinson attacked and injured the kennel owner after starting the fight. The kennel claims one of the dogs was left for 11 days despite never having been in kennels before, that she was nervous, and off her food.
The kennel claims they suggested a shorter trial, but this offer was declined. They also alleged that Robinson assaulted members of staff and the kennel boss was injured.
In response, Robinson, said: “When booking my dog in I was not offered any type of trial stay. My dog definitely does not have a nervous nature, she is the most hyper active, friendly, loving dog there is….. My mum viewed a kennel which must have been a kennel just for viewing as it was completely different to where our dogs were put.”
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police told Manchester Evening News: “Officers attended the scene and two women were arrested on suspicion for affray.
“Neither party was charged so no further action has been taken.”
In a statement, a spokesperson for Stockport Council said: “We are aware of the footage and are making further enquiries into Daisy Bank Boarding Kennels.”
