Blackburn pet services firm marks milestone

Family firm S&J Pet Services in Blackburn, Lancashire, has marked 10 years since its next generation joined the business.

The company, which was started by Joyce Ainsworth and her husband Stuart in 1991, provides dog walking, cat sitting, and small animal care.

Their daughter Kerry and her partner Alastair joined the business a decade ago.

Joyce told The Canine Times: “They joined our business in 2014 as we were going on holiday and they had been asking to join, so we thought it would be a good time as they could take over walking our groups of dogs while we were away.”

She added: “For the future, we are continuing for a few more years even though my husband Stuart and myself are of retirement age, we just love what we do. Kerry and Alastair will take over when the time comes.”
