Berkshire dog exercise area set for closure
A dog exercise area in Thatcham, Berkshire, may close in just over a year after the land was identified as a potential site for a council plan to protect homes from flooding.
The location was identified as a potential site in West Berkshire’s Surface Water Management Plan.
The implementation of the council’s Flood Alleviation Scheme means that this space may be lost by January 2024.
A ‘Save our Dog Park’ group has now been launched on Facebook, which currently has 180 members, and its founder is exploring avenues to save the space or have it moved elsewhere.
