Ayrshire dog park set to open

Bark & Bound Mauchline, a dog park in the Ayrshire countryside, is opening tomorrow (30 June).

The three-and-a-half-acre park features agility equipment, picnic area, shelter shack, and high fencing.

Walkers can book 25-minute or 55-minute slots, with prices starting from £6.50, and the park can accommodate up to five dogs at a time. In addition, there is parking available for four cars.

Owner Carol Stewart told the Daily Record: “I reckon we’re probably the biggest [dog park] in the area — I don’t know any other one that’s got three-and-a-half acres.

“It’s to be able to let your dog run. There really isn’t anywhere you can go now and let your dogs run, apart from the beach, and a lot of the beaches have stopped that as well because of kids and the mess.”
