Asda introduces pet aisles

Asda is partnering with Petface, Lily’s Kitchen, Freshpet, and Denzel’s to create dedicated pet aisles in its stores.

The ‘Petzones’ will launch in the retailer’s stores in Gateshead, Eastlands, Minworth, and West Bridgford.

The supermarket says the aisles will offer something for every budget and will enable Asda customers to pick up ‘specialist’ and harder to find products more conveniently.

Asda senior director of partnerships and business development, Matt Harrison, said: “A rise in the number of pandemic pets has led to demand from customers for greater choice in this particular category.”

He added: “We’re pleased that through partnerships with innovative brands we’re able to offer products for pets of all ages and satisfy the needs of our customers in these five stores.”

John Pullen, Petface category director, said: “This partnership is an amazing opportunity that brings Petface into Asda, creating a dedicated zone where Asda customers can find everything they need on a regular shopping trip.”
