Around 20% of office workers allowed to take pets into work
Nearly 80% of UK office workers are unable to take their new pet to work due to it not having adequate facilities, new research reveals.
The data from raw dog food brand Bella & Duke shows more than a third of Brits are spending, on average, £100 a week on pet daycare – more than £5,000 a year.
Bella & Duke has worked with Space Solutions to create the UK’s most pet-friendly office, featuring a number of benefits, services, and facilities to improve the welfare of employees and their pets. These include inbuilt kennels and relaxation spaces, a picket fence pet sensory garden, agility courses and interactive areas, pet-friendly decor including plants and flowers, calming sprays, toys, and snuffle mats.
Mark Scott, Chief Executive of Bella & Duke, said: “Our pets have always been right by us, even more so during lockdown, so we felt it was time we did right by them.
“We hear of companies talking about being pet friendly, but with pet wellbeing at the core of what our company does, we wanted to take it one step further and create the UK’s most pet-friendly office.”
He added: “It’s our mission to help pets live a happier life, so we encourage more businesses to think about their pet-friendly office and work policies to enjoy the benefits four-legged employees can bring.”
