Acres Way Kennels secures contract extension with Basildon Council

Acres Way Kennels in Thundersley, Essex, has renewed its contract Basildon Council for the collection and kennelling of stray dogs.

The contract extension will run until 2027.

A spokesperson for Basildon Council said: “This represents excellent value for money for a service we have to provide and where animal welfare is paramount.”

Figures released by the council alongside the contract decision show 101 stray dogs have been seized so far this year, with 66 remaining unclaimed.

Acres Way Kennels also provides these services for nearby Rochford and Castle Point councils.
