Abergele welcomes new grooming salon

A new grooming salon has opened in Abergele, north Wales.

The Dog Barber was opened by Meg Hobster, who has almost two decades of experience in the industry, at 4A Market Street. The salon took the site previously occupied by a health shop.

Hobster told the Rhyl, Prestatyn & Abergele Journal: “Moving back during the pandemic, I decided I was going to hold off [opening the business] during lockdown, while everything was shut.

“But when Nature’s Way put up a sign up in the window [about its closure], I thought ‘that’s five minutes from my front door, and there’s no dog groomer in town – perfect’.”

Hobster says she has been delighted by the success of her new business so far.

She added: “It’s been really busy so far – I’ve been surprised by how busy it’s been. Mostly, people ask for clipping and de-matting; we get a lot of doodles.”
