Doggy daycare business aims to expand operations after ‘drastic increase’ in services demand

Manchester-based doggy daycare business Dotty Doolittles has asked Bury Council for planning permission to change the use of new premises on Whitelegge Street, Bury, into a second centre.

“There are many dogs suffering from separation anxiety and [are] not used to being left alone for long periods of time,” the company noted in the planning application.

“Due to such high demand of dogs, we no longer have enough room for others we are constantly turning away custom,” it added.

“This is why we need to expand our business; the new doggy daycare centre will be for small breed only and will provide us with much more space so we can provide the best care with a safe environment [and] constant supervision, where owners can leave their dogs during the day. [The dogs] will be mentally and physically stimulated through structured play, exercise and rest.”

It is expected that the new premises will create new job vacancies for two part-time and two full-time employees based on the number of dogs attending.

The business is also hoping to provide work experience opportunities for local schools and colleges.

If approved, the new centre will be open from 8am to 6pm on weekdays and will be closed at weekends.
