Pet expert warns over impact of the clocks changing
Turning the clocks back can be unsettling for dogs, according to pet specialist John Smith.
Smith, from Yappy.com, says the change can increase stress and anxiety, cause confusion, and increase clinginess.
He said: “The bi-annual clock change causes a slight disruption to our routine and sleeping pattern which only takes a couple of days to get used to, but the impact is bigger for our dogs.”
Smith added: “The best way to prepare your dog is to gradually alter their routine by 10 to 15 minutes each day in the days leading up to the clock change – wake them later, feed them later, and walk them later if you can, so that when the clocks do change it won’t come as a surprise.”
