A pet care facility in Washington, Tyne and Wear, has been put on the market.

My Pet Stop offers boarding, daycare, grooming and specialist services from a five-star licensed site.

The business, situated on Follingsby Lane, is set within landscaped grounds totalling 6.49 acres. It has capacity for 65 dog kennels, 33 cat units, small animal lodgings, multiple treatment rooms, as well as a detached four-bedroom bungalow and studio flat.

Internally, the property also features a large doggy daycare arena, former veterinary suite, offices and a kitchen. The facility also includes a large, fully-equipped grooming parlour with a bathing room and with room to expand.

Owner Catherine Nelson said: “After 21 wonderful years, I’m considering retirement and would love to pass over a business, that I am very proud of, to someone who can take it forward into the future.”

The business is being offered as a going concern, meaning a buyer can continue operations from day one, while also having clear opportunities to enhance and grow the offering further.

Andrew Birnie, Director – Retail & Leisure at Christie & Co, who is managing the sale, said: “My Pet Stop represents a fantastic opportunity to acquire a well-established and highly reputable pet care business that is ready to be taken forward by a new operator.

“We are seeking a purchaser who recognises the strength of the existing operation and is motivated to build on its success, whether by continuing the current model or evolving it into an even more comprehensive pet care proposition.”

My Pet Stop is on the market freehold with a guide price of £1.65m.
