Somerset Softplay for Dogs, in Chilcompton, is to close down less than six months after opening. The company, which opened in November last year, said its closure on 24 May is due to its unit being repossessed. Somerset Soft Play for Dogs said: “The company we were renting the unit from has unfortunately come into financial difficulties and it has resulted in some of their assets being repossessed, sadly the unit that Somerset soft play is held in, is one of those units under repossession. “When the unit was repossessed, we had the option to buy the unit or to leave and as much as it hurts, unfortunately with such a young business, leaving was the only option.” The company said all bookings after this date will be refunded over the coming week. Until then, we will remain open as usual from 7am–9pm every day for private hire bookings. In response, one customer said: “We love coming to you with our dogs and you will definitely be missed. “I hope you find somewhere else to open up and carry on.” Do you have news for The Canine Times?
