Police have issued a warning after suspected poisoned meat and contaminated meat was found in three London green spaces, leaving pets seriously ill. The Metropolitan Police said chicken, which is believed to have contained toxins, had been discovered in Holland Park and Brompton Cemetery over several days. A dog was reported to have eaten some of the meat and subsequently became “very unwell”, while two foxes were found dead with no obvious signs of injury. Officers believe the meat may have been deliberately placed to harm animals and urged dog walkers to remain vigilant and prevent pets from scavenging while in the area. Dogs should be kept on leads at all times in Brompton Cemetery, the police reminded walkers. In addition, dog walkers have been warned after a pet reportedly fell ill from rat poison left in Roundwood Park, North London. The council said it is “operating with an even higher level of vigilance”. Post navigation Weeley garage to become grooming salon West Sussex council consults on new dog controls
