A dog trainer in Darlington, County Durham, has celebrated her business’s first anniversary. Claire Devere-Whiteway-Wilkinson set up PawFecter School for Dogs, in Cockerton, last May, while undergoing treatment for bowel cancer. The company held a scenic walk in Hamsterley Forest for clients, supporters and their dogs to celebrate, which concluded with cake. Devere-Whiteway-Wilkinson told The Northern Echo: “To be standing here one year later, feeling healthy, strong and doing the job I love is something I will never take for granted. The support I’ve received from clients, friends and the local community has been incredible. “The anniversary walk was my way of saying thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey.” The celebrations also coincide with the launch of the business’s new dog walking service, which offers solo walks, small group walks, secure field walks and one-to-one training walks. Devere-Whiteway-Wilkinson said: “We wanted to create a service that offers dogs enriching walks while maintaining the high standards of care and professionalism that our clients expect.” Do you have news for The Canine Times email thecaninetimes@hotmail.com Post navigation Plans for Norwich dog park given green light New St Asaph dog grooming salon opens
